1967 Corvette to be first purchase for Nanaimo lottery winner

NANAIMO — “I was dumbstruck. It’s incredulous.”

Nanaimo man Dale Euerby experienced all the emotions many wish they could feel when he found out he was Nanaimo’s newest millionaire. He won $1 million in the Guaranteed Prize Draw on Jan 5, from a Lotto 6/49 ticket he bought at the Northridge General Store.

“I thought there must be some mistake,” Euerby said in a release.

Most people have fantasies about what they’d do with one million dollars.

Euerby said the first thing he wants to buy is a 1967 Corvette.

“I used to own a beautiful Corvette from 1967. I think now is the time to start looking for another one.”

Spending more time on the golf course is also now in his schedule, undoubtedly showing off the new sports car.

Even with a win under his belt, Euerby said he plans to keep playing the lottery.

In late November, a Nanaimo man split nearly $20 million with his friend, won from a ticket bought in Nanaimo.
